Noup. In picture is three (3) supports. One is is middle of the doors, second is under "back-seats" and third is connecting pipe in safety-arc welded to fire-wall.

I made totally five (5) supports to car.

I used almost six litra epoxypaint and four litra middle (grindle) paint and 0.5 litra Viru Valge vodka. :D

I had 2.2mm nozzle and used 4 bar pressure in my paintgun, it gives big help for painting stiff paints.

Happy new year!!

Sanding and grindlepainting is done and car is just waiting for finally paintjob.

I used time beetween christmas and new year just resting, drinking and eating ham. But i try to get paintjob ready in january. Now in finland and where i live is very cold, -29 degree celsius. So now is much better just stay at stay inside and drink hot glögi with vodka.

I will give information and new photos when i start make finally paintjob.

I was just browsing through the pictures and noticed that you are using a lot of metal to strengthen the body. Have you already estimated how much will there be weight gain in the process?

I think at after these modifications car is about same weight than original.

I used 18m 50x30x2mm pipe, 3m^2 1.5mm steelplate, 1.5m 50x50x3 pipe and 6m 48,3x3.2mm pipe for safety-arc. Its easy calculate how much these materials weights.

Car losts roof, windows, heavy seats, door-panels and all interior-materials.

In inspection car weight will be measured so after that i know that more closely.

I look from tablebook weights for metalpipes and plates.

50x50x3 1.5mx4,25kg/m = 6,375 Kg
50x30x2 18mx2,31kg/m = 41,50 Kg
48,3x3,2 6mx3,56kg/m = 21,36Kg
3m^2 1.5mm = 35,1Kg

Total weight: =104,4Kg

Totalweight may gain about 20-30kg during this re-born process.

A lot less than I feared.
What do the rules and legislations say in Finland about rebuilding a car. In Estonia it is impossible to build a copy of your 2101 v6 as the engine can only be 20% bigger than the original put in the car.
I know of only one volga m21 cabrio built in Estonia which is road legal and the word was that they will not let registere cabrios any more without rollbars behind driver seats.

We can rebuild this kind of cars, so called "outsider of model-serie". In 2101-2107-serie belongs only 4-d sedan and combi so if i want build 2-d model, sedan, combi, pick-up or cabriolet i need exception permission from Vehicle Administration Centre (ajoneuvo hallintokeskus). This permission costs 340?. And i must do plan how i strength car body with calculations and drawings. In my case, having this permission takes nine (9) months.

About engine modifications: We have samekind of rules than you have but ...

New engine weight can be 20% bigger than original engine.
Effect in kW can be 20% bigger than original engine.
And volyme can be 25% bigger than original.

2101-2107 models are equal in this case, so we can use 2107 1.7i engine to fit referenses for new engine. For example Volvos 2.1 and Fords 2.0 ohc engines fits to this frames.

That rollbar question is exciting. In that exception permission i must give reasons for this rollbar and where i will install it. I get permission install it to frame of windshield. And this one rollbar is enough. I used 38% stronger pipe than rules said, so maybe that solved this thing.

Sometimes this rollbar must install behind frontseats, sometimes if rollbar is installed in frame of frontwindow, must install second rollbar behind backseats :P. It just never knows before this exception permission.

New engine weight can be 20% bigger than original engine.
Effect in kW can be 20% bigger than original engine.
And volyme can be 25% bigger than original.

2101-2107 models are equal in this case, so we can use 2107 1.7i engine to fit referenses for new engine. For example Volvos 2.1 and Fords 2.0 ohc engines fits to this frames.
These modifications are free. But if for excample effect or weight is bigger than original +20% need excepetion permission and for engine it is difficult to get“.

But when under hood is Volvos 2.1L engine and all papers is okay, it is lawful put all tuningparts to engine, except turbo.
After inspection any main rule and law is 7kg/kW. So if ladas weight is 1100kg effort can be 1100kg/7kg/kW=157,14kW :P

And all that is lawful with out any changes for brakes or suspension. :o

Rocket with out brakes.

If you want install turbo to lada, then maxium horsepower is (lada2107 1,7i) 84hp*20%=100,8hp=74,11kW

Hmm, do i want turbo- or so called Old School- engine?

What about Konela turbo lada?

Sadly I could not find any acceleration figures or the power output exept what is mentioned in the article 32 sec 1km.

If it was a road legal version of Lada in Finland, then by the law it should be legal to add +20% power to the turbo version output, not the 84hp (regular engine).
